8 things I Learnt From My 8 Month Daughter

My daughter turned 8 months old, the other day. Everyday I get amazed by how she is growing up, how he is learning, how she plays. Here are 8 things in 8 months, that I have observed and learnt from my little one:

  1. She lives in the present moment. No dwelling on past, nor about future. She is 100% in the present. She is living in the moment with ‘All in’ intensity
  2. She plays at the edge of her competence. She has just learnt standing up by holding onto something . Now she wants to stand up, after every 10 seconds. And she is relentless about doing it. She is always keen on playing just at the edges of her competence. This makes her a learning machine
  3. She can not speak a word clearly, but she can convey almost all the basic things she wants- with her body language, gesture and facial expression. So, non verbal>> verbal
  4. She finds joy & wonder, in everyday things. From water in the tap, to lights, moshari- she finds amazement in everyday things.
  5. She explores various kinds things and activities- by trying out first. Then whichever ones she finds interesting, whichever thing/activity seems like a play to her- she does it again and again.
  6. she follows her curiosity and interest like her life depends on it. She peruses her curiosity with a never ending trial & error process. She is never afraid of looking like a fool
  7. She is 100% authentic about her feelings. If she likes something she instantly lets everyone know, if she doesn’t like something she lets everyone know as well by getting mad 😅 She is unapologetically herself.
  8. She wraps a smile & love with most things that she does. Her love is unconditional & innocent.
