Fixing the bugs of democracy

A little food for thought:
To become a brain-surgeon, bridge-designer, airline pilot, ship’s captain, you need rigorously examined qualifications, fitting the serious responsibility.
To lead a massive country with nuclear bombs, satellites & a trillion-scale budget … errr … let me see, what are your qualifications?
Nothing much, just a dumb majority of people needs to vote for you.
I think, not much of an r&d has been done to equip democracy for this 21st century. Hence we are seeing a global trend of seeping win for right wing extremist parties, who pleases the majority but have very little capabilities of running a nation.
I think we have reached a tipping point, we need to fix the bugs in algorithms of democracy. Ship democracy-2.0. And do beta-testings with probable new versions. Just as we do with softwares, in dna- replications or in any kind of self-correcting mechanisms
